If the guide you find has you run a "magic" install program then it won't work with this guide you need to be able to download and unpack the kexts.

Hi after stupidly clicking on update to 10.6.8 on my Dell Inspiron Mini 10, I've now lost the use of Airport and usb.
I found the 10.6.2 to rollback but I can't install the rollback as my usb drive or my external DVD are recognised or get airport to turn on and join my wireless network.
Can anyone tell me how I can get around this problem.
Most if the hundreds if not thousands of guides out there for building a [email protected] all assume that you have access to a working Mac OS machine.
If you didn't then you were out of luck unless you could find someone who had a Mac to help you out.
Even after you got OSX installed you were still vulnerable to a failure that left you without a working machine.
